How we Learn What we Know – Understanding Racism and its Impact

October 26, 2021, 6:30 pm

Racism is recognised as one of the Adverse Childhood Experiences and ACEs research shows the correlation between early adversity and poor outcomes later in life. Secure attachment relationships are important for our well-being not just at the beginning of our lives but across the lifespan. Having a better understanding of racism and its impact on relationships makes it easier to identify ways to develop secure attachments across communities and to create environments in which everyone can thrive. During this session we shall explore the systematic nature of racism and then open the discussion to consider practical ways to build positive relationships across our communities.
