Why Attachment Matters … in our relationships with young people – A discussion prompted by the TV drama ‘Adolescence’

June 10, 2025, 6:00 pm

But not all online communities are negative. Some are positive offering safety and connection.

How can we, as parents, carers and concerned adults, support young people to learn about healthy relationships? How can we have conversations with them that will give them the information and confidence to recognise the difference between positive and harmful content?

At SAIA supporting meaningful and positive attachment relationships throughout life is at the heart of our work. During this session, facilitated by SAIA Trustees Dr. Stephen Drysdale and Gillian Neish, we shall not only discuss the challenges but also hear, share and explore practical ways to have conversations that may, at times, feel difficult but will help our young people stay safe online and build their own healthy relationships.

  • This session is for SAIA members and all those interested in supporting young people to develop healthy relationships.
  • This session will be held online via Zoom.
