Seeking trustees for Scottish Attachment in Action

Scottish Attachment in Action is looking for trustees, and in particular someone to become the Treasurer of our Board of Trustees

Deadline for application: end February 2025

The Charity

Scottish Attachment in Action is a national charity who believe in the importance of attachment-based relationships for all.

We provide training, resources and have a number of projects we deliver, such as our Wee BREATHERS programme, where we support education staff through reflective spaces which improve their ability to develop connections and feel more able to manage the challenges within their role.

We are looking for trustees, and in particular a Treasurer for our Board of Trustees; we meet 3 or 4 times a year in person, and a few times a year online to make decisions on how to best run the charity.

The Board is composed of unpaid volunteers who are elected yearly at the AGM or co-opted by the Board. Together, we build a plan and deliver on the strategic goals of Scottish Attachment in Action, ensuring we have the required processes and systems in place to achieve our aims.

The time commitment/expectation is to attend around 4 Board meetings per year plus 1 or 2 development sessions/training as required.

The Role

Scottish Attachment in Action work with Tangram accounting to support us with our management accounts. The Treasurer, alongside the board is responsible for the following:

• Overseeing financial aspects of the charity, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, to ensure its short and long-term viability.

• Ensuring that the charity operates within the financial guidelines set out in current legislation/OSCR.

More generally as a Board member/Trustee you will:

• Have enthusiasm for the importance of relationships/connection.

• Act as an ambassador for Scottish Attachment in Action.

The Person

We are interested in those who could help us oversee our charity, and specifically for our treasurer role, someone who is looking to utilise accounting skills to support the third sector.
