Supporting the Education Workforce – Scotland Wide Opportunity

Scottish Attachment in Action (SAIA) has an exciting opportunity over the next 18 months to pilot attachment-informed approaches to supporting the education workforce.

Funded by the Promise Partnership we are now recruiting for a pool of up to 10 individuals who have the skills and passion to inform and provide supervision to pilot groups across the education workforce through our Wee BREATHERS project. Click to read more about our Wee BREATHERS.

This is an exciting development and a response to the needs identified by many in the education workforce during the 2023/24 term. We also hope to engage across Scotland including the central belt, Fife, and the Highlands.

The Candidate

SAIA would love to hear from individuals who are able to help us deliver attachment-informed, trauma sensitive supervision as part of the Wee BREATHERS project. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the education context, have a good knowledge and understanding of attachment theory and the impact of developmental trauma and have used your skills to support others.

As this is a pilot project the approach may develop in response to continued learning, however, the initial expectation is that you will be available to offer one hour supervision sessions either 1-to-1 or through peer supervision. Wee BREATHERS supervision may take place in person or virtually.

Your Commitment

To be successful you will be expected to commit to the project for at least a year, and to being open, curious, and relational in support of the work. You must also be able to successfully complete the training which will be provided.

Time commitment may vary as the project develops but, at present, we anticipate you time commitment will be between 8 and 12 hours a month. This includes the provision of your own supervision as well as the preparation and necessarily follow up required by the project.

What We Offer

SAIA will provide training for the role in August 2023. The dates and times of supervision sessions can be negotiable to suit your availability.

You will receive regular support and ‘supervision’ as part of the approach.

Wee BREATHERS Supervisors will be engaged with SAIA on a self-employed basis and will receive an hourly rate of £30 per hour for supervision related work (including provision of sessions, preparation, and training).
